We can recommend one or two procedures to more quickly achieve the clear skin you desire.

Acne is predominately a hormonal disease. The androgens (male hormones) stimulate the sebaceous glands. These glands put out oil and secretions that plug the pores. After this, bacteria get into these areas and start to secrete other inflaming substances. Now you have acne, but it has taken weeks to get to this point.

To clear this problem, we recommend alpha hydroxyacids, benzoyl peroxides or Retin-A. Additionally, we can recommend one or two procedures to more quickly achieve the clear skin you desire.

The first is called a chemexfoliation for acne. This procedure involves applying an alphahydroxy acid to the skin. This procedure unclogs pores and dereases the large, red bumps.

The other is acne surgery, which is a direct opening of the pores with a facial mask and minor surgery. This is best for severe blackheads and whiteheads.

Many insurance plans cover these treatments. Please contact our office for more information.

There are a variety of acne
treatments available to give
